Re: Torch Coral

Thats whats nice about branching Euphyllia corals.....If you lose a head or 2 you can cut them off with little harm to the healthy heads and have little chance of disease spreading due to the space between polyps.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Re: Torch Coral

just a FYI bubble corals can extend there sweeper tentacles almost a 1 foot. you said that "all of a sudden it just got big." you might want to do some more looking because it could be a possibility that your bubble is to the point ware it is consuming a lot of food at a time more than you can supply it.

So in that case the bubble is just going to get bigger and bigger trying to bring in as much food as he can. Till he gets to the point where he dies. This might sound crazy but its happened to me and lots of other people. But just my 2 cents. This is where most people go wrong when keeping these is that they are not ready for the fast growth speed and under prepare them selfs. And when something goes wrong that is the last aspect that they look at. long story short i would move the heads or the bubble.
