| Tunicate | Acan ID... echinata? Hi all, just registered here at RS... very nice community here anyways, i wanted to ask the Acanthastrea experts here about an ID of this coral... it's was sold as a "green" echinata, but i believe it to be something else. it is much fleshier than echinata, but not as "fleshy" as hillae... maybe it's something in between? for now i'll call it the mystery coral here are some pix of the mother colony: ![]() ![]() and here's a pic of the frag that i received... anyways, that last pic is mine, the top 2 aren't mine, they're from a friend of mine... (same colony though) any help at IDing this coral would be great, unfortunately i don't have skeleton pix to show... *an off topic question, is the hillae even a hillae?? (the OC hillae) thanks! --Daniel |

| Tunicate | hi, i don't think the owner of the mother colony will be fragging that piece anytime soon. but you never know :P he already went from 40 polyps down to like 15-20 or something ... anyways, does anyone else have any ideas about this coral? i don't think it's a lord simply b/c it doesn't really have distinguished polyps like a lord has, this is almost "fused" together around the walls... i'm guessing it's the same thing as the OC "hillae" ? |
