| Golden Moray ![]() | Sun Coral Feeding Help Hey guys, so i got my first sun coral yesterday and i am yet to see the polyps. I know he mainly come out at night. I an trying to targe feed righ tnow and i can see sme polyps "thinking" about coming all the way out. Is there a best way to target feed these guys. I am using a 2 litre right now but the food doesnt stay suspended like i thought it would....any ideas?? what do u guys do? thanks |

| Golden Moray | Re: Sun Coral Feeding Help I have heard of some colonies not opening for days after acclimation. Some open right away. It's not unusual for it to take weeks actually. I don't cage mine simply because of the way the colony is situated in the tank and I can't physically do it. I use a small baster (med doser from the childrens care section at the pharmacy) and mix DT's phyto with some homemade meaty mush and dust the coral then guard it with a plastic spoon for a few minutes while he eats. It's a PITA but it works.

I too have mine in a cave to i am hoping they will soon be out all day ![]() thanks for the help, i just get paranoid if something doesnt open soon after i put in in , thanks again |

| Plate Coral | Re: Sun Coral Feeding Help I just got a few sun coral the other day, I'm feeding it the Coral Frenzie stuff at night. Mine only seem to open at night and when the white light shuts off in the evening. Do you think this will change in a week or two? I also got some black sun coral, are the the same care as in feeding, light etc?? Thanks Here is a night shot with my little LED flashlight... ![]() |
