I went to my LFS and fell in Love

This guy is so amazing that he deserves his own thread.
My fav LFS was having a one day 20% off sale today. I had to work today and did not make it there until the last hour. They had some very nice Open Brains and then I saw this one. It was love at first sight.
Ohhhh the colors.
He was nice and open and looked very health.
He has been in my 55g for a few hours and has opened a little.

Introducing my Rainbow Trachyphylliidae. . .

Great find. I have a question about this type brain. Can they be fragged? I have a wet tile saw, and I have a green brain of the same type. Anyone know? Thanks

Have been seen to asexually reproduce in captivity by budding of small pieces breaking off a mother colony Trachyphyllia . But who would "destroy" already a so nice coral? I certainly not, it am them so strongly grows and several polyps trains the other corals in the growth interfere.

Not a matter of destroying it, mine is just getting too big. Its about the size of a soccer ball..

Re: I went to my LFS and fell in Love

I have read of people fragging this type of coral with a band saw. The trick is to produce a fast clean cut and then afterwards place in a spot where it will recieve enough flow to speed up the healing process.
