| Totally back   | Window shopping Browsing some stores in far off lands and this is what I found:   notice the clove polyps on the shell...

| Totally back | Re: Window shopping See the acrylic rock holders underneath the rock on the last picture? Looks nice, but I'm wondering how long until those get coated in coralline? A lot of Japanese reef keepers maintain a lower alk and ca level to discourage the growth of coralline algae and say it increases the growth rate of corals because they are not competing with coralline algae. I dunno though.

Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian) This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.
