| Tunicate | BlueSpot Question ASAP I am getting my blue spot in the morning. I was wondering if anyone has had any issues with a blue spot and a pearly (yellow head) getting along? I also have a watchmen in the 90 gal tank. The yellow and watchmen leave each other alone. In fact they 100% ignore each other. Does anybody think I will have any issues? Thanks! |

| Golden Moray | Re: BlueSpot Question ASAP It's hard to say. If you can, put the blue spot in the area where the pearly doesn't burrow. You could even build a burrow to encourage him to live there. One member has 2 bluespots in a 90 gallon, so you might be ok.

| Tunicate | Re: BlueSpot Question ASAP Yeah I jsut got the yellow the other day and he is just a small guy. He dug a hole right up front under a rock and I was going to make a hole with shells around it for the blue spot and try to get him to go in that hole. Is there a best way to try and trick your blue spot into using a hole you make? |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: BlueSpot Question ASAP I'm the one with two blues in the 90 but I'm not sure I will be of much help. The first was well established in the front left of the tank when I added the second. It went immediately to the right rear of the tank and started building. They have each remained in the same area they started in. I have never tried mixing jawfish. I have a pearly in another tank and at least my pearly acts quite differently than my blues. Then again I don't think I have ever given the pearly rubble to build with. I may just try that this weekend. I have also never tried to persuade a blue to go to a particular place. I would suggest that you leave the tank dark when you add the blue and be very very very sure you have the top completely covered. They both spook easily and jump very well. I know there can be extreme agression between blues if you get two males so I would definitely watch carefully when trying to combine the two. Sorry I can't be any real help.

| Smile Maker | Re: BlueSpot Question ASAP I think the two jawfish are different enough in size and coloration that it shouldn't be a problem, however, I have never tried the two together. On the other hand, I do have a BSJF and Yellow Watchman goby in the same tank (90 gallon) without any aggression. However, all fish have different personalities, even within a species, so it may or may not work out for you. ![]() |

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: BlueSpot Question ASAP I wouldn't try to add a pearly to a tank with a Bluespot, but since you are adding a Bluespot to the pearly's tank you might be ok. I also have a watchman with mine. Do you have a safet place to put one of them just in case?

| Tunicate | Re: BlueSpot Question ASAP Thanks for the info! Good stuff. Well he was here this morning and has been added to the tank :-) SO EXCITED!!!! My pearly jawfish is jsut a baby and never leaves his hole under his rock and could care less when he seen the blue spot. In fact the only time he comes out right now is when I do the turkey baster for my corals. He loves me to feed him slowly with it :-) Just like a baby. The big watchman goby seen the blue spot and 100% ignored him also so I think I am going to be ok. The watchman has his rock he never leaves really. Hangs out and watches me to see if I am going to toss goddies into the tank for him. The blue spot headed for the back of the tank out of sight into the reef which I expected. I just hope that he does not stay there :-( I figure in a couple of days he will move into the open. I will keep you all posted. Thanks for the info! |
