I got BJ first and then just looked for a second one that was very different from him. Well actually, I wasn't looking, but rather fell upon the Misses at the lfs. If you look at the two of them, they are quite easy to tell apart. Not sure if all the differences are because of sex though. She was actually in a tank with another Bluespot who was more aggressive. She wasn't responding to or being stressed by the aggressiveness, so I grabbed her.

I gave him more rubble today because the den kept colapsing. He is still busy building this evening. My cucumber is about to check out his place. This will be interesting. The Misses has been busy building today as well, BJ taught her how to build nice and tidy.

lol - I really need a better camera!

I got absolutely nothing done today! Oh, I did scrape the coraline algae off the back glass. He sat and flashed through that whole cleaning session and beyond.

It's very different than I would expect. He doesn't go over to her at all. He just rises to about the middle of the water column, then darts back in his hole. If you look at the slideshow, you can see that she pretty much just sits there. The other fish seem more excited than her about the whole deal. Then you have the midas blenny right there in between them - like he is their chaperone.

Do you think he would be flashing if there were no female around? Perhaps he is confused and flashing at the Midas blenny! LOL

Sometimes I think he flashes at his shadow. But, if the Misses weren't a female, they would have fought by now. She has only been in the tank a few months and may not be at maturity yet either.

I've asked him what he sees, but so far he doesn't talk back to me - lol!

I'm surprized that he keeps up the act while I am cleaning the inside of the glass, moving corals and what all. He does behave different under the VHOs vs the MHs. It is more difficult to get video of him under the MHs (I think he can see me more). Although the video isn't as nice under the VHO since it is darker, it is pretty easy to get a decent flash picture.
