My 120 project

Well I am finnaly moving away from the nanos!!!! This is going to be my first big tank and I can't wait to get it started! I just picked the tank up yesturday and just finished scraping all the old algea off it. This weekend or next week I'm going to get the filtration for it. I'm not sure what I'm going to use yet, I'll do a little research in this forum to get some ideas. I'll keep everyone posted with my progress...

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Big Al's 10g
Julie's (BigAl's Gal) 6g NanoCube Gone but not forgotten
BigAl's Slow 90g Tank Chronicle

Is that a drilled hole in the bottom I see outside of the overflow? As far as a sump can you fit a 40 breeder with Your own design under there? That was what I used under my 120 but had to remove a brace to get it in. Enjoy the journey here.

Great ungrade! You are going to have so much fun. Let us know when you are equipment shopping we all have ideas and Jack and other sponsors have great prices.
Have you thought about what lights you are going to get and what you want to keep in the tank?

Hey Lynn!!
I'm using your 90 build as a reffrence guide I would really like some help on what filter to get and from where. I am very new to this and I really don't know what way to go, so any advice would be great. And as far as fish, there is only one thing that I am certain about and that is that there will be a Blue Spott Jawfish in there!! I'm going to design the tank around him. And the guy I got the tank from is selling me the lighting too. I will post pics of it too see what you think. I know that there are two 250 watt MH in there tho....SWEET!!
Bye Bye Nano, lol
