| Midas Blenny | Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? Hello I woke up this morning to see that my Blue Spot was out of his hole laying on his side breathing really hard. He just keeps flopping around the tank. His color is great and he is nice and fat. He was in a hole that my fire fish lives in so I don't know if the fought it out or what, but around his eye looks a little damaged. Is there aything I can do to save him or do I just let him die ![]() |

| Over Achiever | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? Sorry for your trouble Reefer333. It doesn't sound good. If you have a QT tank where he can be alone is about your only chance. If he is that far gone though, trying to move him and acclimate him to new surroundings is going to be enough stress to push him over the edge. All the best. |

| Midas Blenny | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? Yeah it deffinatly looks like my fire fish beat him up. His one eye is damaged. My firefish is tiny i'm supprised he would hurt him. Any advice on where to order one, if this one dies I want to try it one more time, I really love these fish. I was thinking about the Marine Center online. Are they good? |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? How long have you had him? Has he been sharing the burrow with the fire fish the whole time or does he have his own burrow that he left? Was there a cave in? Either feed him well with enriched food or pull him out and into a qt tank to treat him with antibiotics. I wouldn't stress him too much trying to get him into a qt. Keep him as calm as possible. Increasing the aeration in the tank won't hurt.

| Midas Blenny | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? I've only had him four days. He dug a hole and the hole eventually connected to the fire fish hole. He's still got some energy tho, he's swimming around the tank pretty good. What antbiotics do I use and are they reef safe? |

| Midas Blenny | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? Now he's swimming around a little bit as to before when I woke up he was laying on his side breathing really hard, and now it looks like he trying to find a place to hide. Honestly he looks like he was a healthy fish( Colors good and he's kinda active ), but he got beat up and is very stressed and hurt from it. I think if I try to catch him it will stress him out even more. Should I feed mysis?? |

| Over Achiever | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? I would just observe him throughout the day. Try not to over react and make rash decisions. I think your suggestion to leave him alone is a good idea. Let him find his own way. Believe me, his natural home is more formidable than your tank. Their first instinct is to survive. Keep us posted! |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Blue Spot Dying, Anything I can do? Mysis soaked in selcon and garlic would be good but don't stress him out with the food. The real key is not to stress him. In fact if you can cover the tank with something and give him just a small amount of light so he can see that would be ideal. The key is to avoid stress and if he is a new fish he is stressed by the new tank to begin with.
