Re: Scotty's Spotty

I agree with Scott 100% about the LA Bluespots. They do sem to be the healthiest. I have seen several at "other" places. Its the same thing over and over: Torn and tattered fins, thin bellies, dull coloration, super nervous fish.

Scott- That is one handsome little guy you got there. I love the little front facing poses they give you, that is Joses Favorite pose right now. That big frown and those two big ol' eyes. I dont think there is a more handome fish anywhere, besides Jose.

Re: Scotty's Spotty

Here are some shots I took today. Spotty is doing very well! Every couple of days he will disassemble his burrow and rearrange the rubble into a tidy tube. Then he blows sand all around it to level it off. It's quite interesting to watch!

A face only a reefer could love!

They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Just bee-yoo-ti-fulll Scott. I'm marking this fish on my list of creatures for the tank. Your tank is gorgeous. It's so cool that Spotty has front center stage!

Barb, It tis true that the BSJF is an interesting beautiful fish, but before marking it on your list of fish to acquire take a look at the bluespot pages and see how many have been lost as compared to the amount that have been kept alive for long periods of time. I , myself would love to have one of these fish and believe me I am not trying to dissuade you from something that you want, but just want to make you aware that these fish are not the easiest fish to keep in the aquarium.

Dentoid and a very few others have done fine with their fish and I wish them success, but there are others who have lost theirs within a month's time or less. Good luck with it if you decide to get one in th efuture.

Dr. S, as usual beautiful photo of Spotty!

I see that, Caitrina... how sad all the RIP's... way more than the ones still with their aquarists. For me, it would be a couple of years down the road, I'm sure. We'll see how things go. It also seems that a deeper tank is more important for them, too? I would hate to have one jump. I'll definitely consider carefully before deciding to add one for sure.

I'm making a list because with the way my brain works, I'll forget the things that I like before the time comes that I could actually consider introducing them!
