Re: Scotty's Spotty

Here are couple of shots I just took of Spotty! The second picture is of him peering over the edge of the sandbed at my wiggling fingers. "Spotty, look here, smile!" This is about all I see of him unless it's feeding time. He's got quite the stock pile of debris!

Spotty is a funny little fish!

Re: Scotty's Spotty

I got a real kick out of this. Spotty is blowing water at this anemone, I guess to get it away from her burrow. It's fun to watch!

Re: Scotty's Spotty

I assume the anemone will obey his command. Mine had to do that with a xenia. The xenia didn't listen at all!

Every pic of spotty is better and better. I love reading about and seeing his exploits. Hope that nem gets the hint and gets out of the way. Spotty wins.

Re: Scotty's Spotty

Last night before I went to bed I looked at the tank and Spotty was out of his burrow and up in the rockwork. First time I have seen this. This morning when I woke up he was back in his usual burrow, but had dug a massive hole about 5" away and completely burried my pink ric and a small zoanthid frag. Crazy fish!

Re: Scotty's Spotty

Aw, Im so glad that he is doing so well for you. They are so cute when they have their little head poked outta their burrows. But they are really pretty to see swimming around. You know he will be out and about in no time.

They grow up so fast.LOL

I think he heard about your lights and wants to know why you didn't mention them to him sooner. Crazy kid!

Re: Scotty's Spotty

Today I observed unusual behavior from Spotty while Terry and I were setting up the new lighting. He was coming out of his burrow for extended periods of time while there was no light over the tank. One time he darted to the top and jumped. Then after the new light went on, he started rearranging his burrow big time. I wonder if the intensity of the MHs causes stress? If these fish are coming from 30-150' of water the light intensity is much lower than what a MH puts out. Something to think about.

Anyway, here is a never before seen picture I took of the little jewel today!

Re: Scotty's Spotty

I swear, it's like he was checking out each and every thing we were doing today. If I crouched down to look under the tank he would come out of his burrow and come up to the glass to pear down trying to see what I was doing.

He has a complete tunnel set up under that coral too. He really is quite the character.
