Last night Spotty gave me a scare!

We were just getting ready to leave to have dinner with some friends. I fed the tank and watched Spotty dashing in and out of his burrow for some grub. I walked away, came back 5 minutes later and his burrow had caved in! No signs of Spotty! I went in with a wooden skewer and dug out the entrance area with no sign of him. Then I noticed about 4' away the gravel was starting to cave in. I knew he was under there. So I went in again, this time I lifted the paly rock that he was using for a roof and sure enough there he was just looking out at me. I proped the rock up to give him room to get out. When we returned from dinner about 6 hours later he had rebuilt his entire home. Here are some pictures taken today. Long live Spotty!

Thanks Jeff! I didn't see what happened and can only speculate, but I suspect that his quick darting in and out caused the land slide.

I love that fish. He is really amazing! Good thing you were around to save him. I wonder if he would have been able to dig himself out though...

It's especially amazing when you think of these little guys living in the sand at the bottom of the ocean!
