Re: Lorraine's Bluespot Heaven

Gina- Absolutely, I actually have thought of setting up a seahorse jawfish tank. Both seahorses anf BSJF like cooler temperatures. I think that this would be an awesome setup, the ponies would not bother the JF and Blues are not mean.

Re: Lorraine's Bluespot Heaven

Gina, do you have ponies already? Lynn is in the process of setting up a pony/Jawfish tank.

Everyone Else - PeekaBoo Blue ~ Boo Blue for short! I like. I'll have to ask her about it.

Re: Lorraine's Bluespot Heaven

Love the new name.
Yes Gina I have talked to Matt about it and he believes the two would go well together. Blues are pretty passive and generally stay near the bottom of the tank while the ponies are likely to be higher in the tank. Blues are not really agressive about food either. I hope to get a bluespot after my ponies are all settled in and I have a DBS for him/her.

Actually, it is the other way around. The BS digging and turning over all the shells exposes lots of live food for the mandarin.[/quote]

I wondered about that. Makes more sense. Nice pic and perfect name

Re: Lorraine's Bluespot Heaven

Looks like Boo Blue is going to stick! She likes it ~ Came all the way out of her place she was so excited about it!

She's been busy today expanding across the large red mushroom rock as well. She now occupies about 1-1/2 feet of the tank and is still not interested in decorating it with shells. Her current setup seems to keep the live crabs out too which is good.

This Bluespot is so beautiful. I am in awe of her! I have to go out of town for 3 days next week and I am going to miss her terribly!

Re: Lorraine's Bluespot Heaven

Boo Blue is still doing very well. I was messing around in the tank a lot yesterday including moving the two mushroom rocks that were part of her den and worried about her the whole time. I tossed several shells her way and she has incorporated every one of them. Of course when I was done, I rebuilt what I disturbed. The red mushroom rock is still there, but I removed the brown/green one from that area and used a flat rock instead, then placed some pink trumphets in a nice crevice it created. Tonight I just spent 15 minutes watching her hang out - she is gorgeous! Oh, I already said that didn't I. Unfortunately, no camera shots, I've lost my battery charger! She is still out, now on the other side of the tank with my montis (that was brave), now she is back to her den area but is still hanging out there.

Here is a pic of the remodel from earlier today. Boo Blue is a late riser, doesn't like to eat before she has her cup of coffee either.
