| Smile Maker | Re: The Bluespot Club Soulbabel, this is the so called dreaded BSJF disease that has surfaced mainly from these on-line boards. There is no scientific research, that could be found, to link these deaths with the white spots. In my opinion the loss of color is secondary to some other underlying problem such as parasites, water temperature, shipping and handling etc. The color loss is a symptom of something else. The something else, nobody knows. Most things I read on these boards concerning this fish is all anecdotal. You are right, they do tend to make random, darting movements when frightened, with my BS, which I had for 7 months, she would only do this after lights out, but I never saw her hit anything. Furthermore, occasionally my BS would get a white spot here or there, but would never amount to anything. They would go away and she was always healthy and eating. Nobody knows the reason for the high mortality rate for this species. I personally suspect that it has something to do with the collection process. |

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: The Bluespot Club I'm really excited!!! Can't wait for pics!!! I wouldn't QT another one either unless I had a QT with a deep sand bed. Just make sure and observe it for a while before you add it to your tank (I know your eyes won't go off of it from the minute it arrives, but just thought I'd mention it).
