Re: The Bluespot Club

I have missed so much in this and other threads. Sounds like everybody is doing great.
Mermaid it is funny you mention it but I am in the process of setting up a 90g tank for seahorses and blkue spots only. I have decided on 4 pair of ponies but I am still not sure if I will have one ore two BJSF. It is only a 4ft tank and unless they pair I am afraid of agression between them. Well the tank is cycling now so I have some time to decide. Hopefully lots more info will be added to this thread before I get to that point. Meanwile I am in the past owners list as well as the wannabes.
I hope all goes well for you and don't let anybody scare you away from our very friendly forum.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Mrs QT looks so much more comfortable in the pipe with some substrate than she did scrunched under the heater.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Lynn - Yip you gotta check in here or you'll miss the fun stuff! Mrs. QT dreams about her 125! She doesn't even care if she has to share it with other fish, but she's already told me she doesn't want a mate.

Goldenmean - I totally agree! She acts so much more like a Bluespot now. She peaks her head where she can see me, then turns around in the tube abd pokes her head out the other way. This morning when she ate she darted in and out of the pvc tubing. It's not quit natural yet, but so much better.

They are still loving their mixture of fresh garlic, mysis, krill, and a few other tidbits I throw in with it now and then. Not sure if you guys noticed, but Mrs. QT is much smaller than Mr. 50. Don't know if she is just younger or what. If so it will be fun to watch her grow up.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Lorraine, those pictures do my heart good! I'm glad they are doing well. I keep Dotty updated on her cousins.

We were watching Dotty last night while she tried to drag a very large snail to her burrow. Got such a chuckle! She does this quite often. If you are a hermit, you don't want to walk by her burrow, because you will become part of her decorating scheme. Of course it's an ever changing scheme as the hermits and snails do not want to be a part of her decor and move away in a huff. Her burrow is quite intricate. I can't get a good a picture of it, but it is lined with all kinds of things. I noticed that my birdsnest frag and its mount is now a part of her back entrance. I was wondering where that frag got off to!

Here are a couple of shots I just took of her.

Re: The Bluespot Club

I totally adore the pic of dotty going after the regal. That is major cool. She really does rule the tank.
Beautiful fish!!!

Re: The Bluespot Club

Question. do all bluespots look the same, or do their spots vary? because i was in my lfs the other day, and i think i saw one. i wasn't there for him so unfortunately i didn't pay much attention to the labeling on the glass. the one i saw looked like it only had blue spots on his face like freckles. could this be a bluespot, or did i mistake it for some kind of goby?

Re: The Bluespot Club

They all do pretty much look the same. As far as the spots, I guess they vary, kind of like a finger print, but for the average person looking at them, they all look the same. I wonder if BSs can ID each other by their spot patterns?
