Re: The Bluespot Club

Ok I forgot to metion that I have a glass lid, but there is a 4 inch gap at the back of the tank. I did this so there would be gas exchange. Also I have this gap screened off so there are no holes for anything to escape. Plus I have a large 45 gallon sump/ refugium that is not covered. And another refugium that is 10 gallons that is also not covered.

They're going to need two of them. I'm on their list too.

Re: The Bluespot Club

I think that they are the best place for just about anything. Ive bought everything from them, and I have been sooo happy. Everthing always is so healthy and they have the best guarentee ive ever encountered. I hope they get like 10, you know just so there will be enough to go round..
Is this where you got your previous BSJF?

I looked long and hard at this place before picking mine up local:

Vivid Aquariums Tropical Fish Store in Los Angeles - 15 Day Livestock Guarantee

Good guarantee policy, and they claim to have them in stock...

Re: The Bluespot Club

What do people feed their Blue Spots? I've been giving mine mysis, but he's very sloppy. I'd like to find something meatier that wouldn't go all over the tank quite as much.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Owens, my BSJF eats anything meaty. Clams, squid and pieces of silversides. She turns her nose up at flake though.

Dotty has moved again. She can't get away from that pesky cucumber. Everytime she builds a burrow withing 24 hour the cucumber parks its itself in her burrow. She moved from the far right of the tank to the far left just the other day. This morning she was all up in my green star polyps pretending she was a clown fish! I looked at her burrow and that damn cucumber was obstructing her burrow. She must be stirring up some good grub! Now she is in the back right corner behind a big rock, but she hangs out at the top of the rock. She has the cutest little face. She pops up everytime I come to the tank, looking for food no doubt. It's actually a better place for her because she is not bothered by the other fish during feeding time. Here's her latest photo shoot!

She languishes on these zoas. I hope it's not poisonous to her.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Michael, I have only bought my Bluespots locally. A long time ago I did buy a few fish and lots of cleaners from LiveAquaria. My Bluespot didn't like silversides (spit them out), but liked small pieces of shrimp.

Scott, I'm glad Dotty isn't going to let a cucumber keep her down. PS - You have to check out my forum to see what prizes I got today... Not a Bluespot, but requires a tight lid!

Scott... she's just too cute!

On a sadder note... Freckles is no longer with us. I noticed this morning he was out of his tunnel completely in an odd spot and he didn't eat. I was concerned that the move would stress him out too much. I know it's stressin me... Anyway when I got home this morning to start the tear down on the 90... he was not alive. He will be missed...

Re: The Bluespot Club

Sorry about your loss, Lisa. I will say a prayer for Freckles.
I was just wondering if anyone has bought livestock from vividaquariums.com
I called them and they said that they could get me one. Just wondering about the quality of their fish.

I am so terribly sorry Lisa, Freckles seemed like a strapper. I wish there was something I could do! I will play Chopins, Marche Funebre in his honor.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Im not trying to be insensitive, but do these little guys just "go to the big fishtank in the sky" for no reason. Or are they just that difficult to keep. I want one more than anything, but I dont want to get one just foe it to die. If my tank is setup correctly, and I provide the correct husbandry, should I be ok. Again I am so sorry for your loss, Lisa
