Re: The Bluespot Club

So sorry Lynn about the blue.
I have bad news also. My blue bit the bullet tonight also. I don't think it was well from the beginning. It had the white blotches also and the gills were always wide open. One good thing is Brian my lfs owner is willing to give me another they got in and is doing well. He's an awesome store owner at Aquatic Imports. I froze the fish and were going to do an autopsy and find out what went wrong. This guy knows his stuff so we might be able to figure out whats been going on with other peoples fish also. I will let you all know tomorrow.

Re: The Bluespot Club

So sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel and it really stinks. Hopefully you get some good info from the autopsy. It would be great to be able to learn from the experience.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Sorry Frankie! I also know how you are feeling... I lost my first one too. She also never really looked that great. Seemed very stressed from the start. It's great that your LFS is willing to go the extra distance. Mine did the same thing and it makes you feel like they care... not like they are trying to make money.

Frankie, so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you are doing an autopsy. It will be good to understand the problem.

Frankie I too am disheartened to hear of your loss. The autopsy is a good idea. Are you going to do a microscopic analysis of tissues? Cheers for your next one!

Re: The Bluespot Club

I am sorry to hear about everyone's losses. My guy moved back to his original spot, from one side of the tank to the opposite side of the tank. Luckily, I have had no problems feeding him, and he seems to love the mysis. He looks real comfortable with the rest of the crew. When I picked him up from my LFS, I think that he had been there for around a month or so. He was in a smaller tank, not very easy to see. I hope that he likes his new environment. I would hate to go through what you guys are going through.

Take care,
Reza

Re: The Bluespot Club

Sounds like you need to supply us with some more photos. A few of us are in bad need of a Bluespot fix!

Re: The Bluespot Club

Sorry everyone. I have been working late the last few days and haven't had a chance to bring the fish to Aquatic Imports. I froze it right away and to my wifes horror it's still in the freezer. I will do it today. No Dentoid i don't think Brian's set up to do a microscopic analysis of tissue. Were just going to open it up and look for internal parasite and try to identify the exterior white blotches.
I will also be looking at the other BSJF they have there and will watch it for a week and see how it looks. I'm not going to be so quick to get another this time. My current fishes health must come first.
