Dotty just jumped out of the tank through the egg crate! I was cleaning the skimmer and went into the kitchen for 2-3 minutes. She was in the tank one minute and out when I went back to replace the skimmate cup. I think I got her back in the tank in time. She's a bit stunned but breathing. Luckily, she didn't fall behind the tank, I never would have gotten her! I hope she's ok!

Lisa, are you saying you are giving up on another one some time? That would be sad.

LOL...I was a softy. She seems to be ok, a bit stunned. I'm going to Home Depot to get some screen. I hope she's not injured from the fall!

Look for some screen that they use to cover ponds, it is a lot finer mesh and won't block as much light. The stuff I have is by Pond Master, it is 3/8 inch mesh. I haven't tested it with MHs yet though.

I'm back. I got some regular window screen, which was all I could find. It'll have to do for now. She just hold-up behind a rock. Hopefully, she'll find her burrow. I can only imagine the trauma!

Thanks, Lorraine, Woody and Lisa. I got the screen in place with plastic ties. A nice, tidy job I might add. It cut the light, but doesn't seem to be that much. Lorraine, I will look for the netting you mentioned earlier. I am concerned about the light. What's a reefer to do? How much heartache can one take!

Oh no! How horrible! I am so glad you were right there and noticed immediately. I removed my screen and now I am terrified after reading this. Frank just pulled our neon dottyback out of the fuge tonight as well. No idea how he got there, but he seems fine now. I am so glad it wasn't my bluespot. Hope he recovers soon to become his usual chipper self.
Meanwhile Frank suprised me with a bunch of bluespot pics when I got home. Here are a few. Lorraine you can take any of them for the front page or I am sure I will have more in a day or two.

These are the two nettings that I got, the one on the left resulted in too much loss of light. The one one the right, would work well over an eggcrate. I don't know if it would hold up under MHs. I will test this soon, but not yet. It is UV protected and does have some heat resistance, just not sure if it is enough.
