I'm leaving the piece of Fuzzy alone. You're right, he needs to deal with the inhabitants all on his lonesome.

psst. owibami is the Mandarin. Bam Bam is the BS.

I took some more pictures when my dentist's office canceled my appt. So here's a few of Bam Bam for Lorraine!

This is the side of the tank where Bam Bam is living right now... you can see the long pile of rubble he has to work with, and his cute little noggin in the left side of the picture.

MOM! Make him stop staring at me! He loves to stare at me now when I'm nearby. Last night he would dip down into his hole, but this morning he wants to check me out, I think.

I haven't been able to get any shots of his body; the blue on him is amazing. I know all of you know that already. But this is MY BSJF, so HIS blue is the Best In All The Land, dontcha know?! Here's the best I have done so far.

"WHut! Whut u starin' at?! Get a LIFE, lady!"

Re: The Bluespot Club

So sorry to hear of your loss Seahorse. I had my first several die on me as well and I took a break for several months. Now I have Sunshine and so far she is doing great. I think there is something positive about taking a break.
Barb, Bam Bam is beautiful. I told you he would like the big pieces.

Blake, I have the Mandarin, a firefish, a lawnmower blenny, and MAYBE a pink and blue spot shrimp goby that I haven't seen in a few days. Inverts; a couple of pistol shrimp, hermits, and the usual snails, serpent star, tuxedo urchin, decorator crab, some porcelain crabs.

I also have gorilla crabs; I'll probably never get them all out, and at least one caribbean mantis that I know of.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Well, BJ took a dive again yesterday. I found him earlier today in the sump sock, again! Why, oh why can't kids learn! He looks like he injured himself again. Nice to see him back in his hole tonight though. I took a video too, but need to upload it first.

He doesn't seem to be bothered by it and was eating tonight. It healed last time, so I am hopeful.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Bam Bam has been extremely busy tonight! I think he had a goal in mind of getting his burrow deep enough for a roof. Right before the lights went out he was trying to drag a rock over that looked like it would be a perfect fit for a lid.

He seems to be used to me by the tank, so that's good. His work no longer stops if I walk up. He'll pause to look me over then get right back at it.

I fed the tank tonight, and he was not interested in food at all. Am I correct in thinking he probably needs to complete this burrow to his liking before he really settles down?

Lorraine, THANK YOU for adding me to the list.. I loce seeing my name there.

Did you just about have a heart attack when you saw him in the sock?! Sheesh.. hope his injury heals okay!

Thanks, Gina! He IS beautiful, isn't he?!

They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: The Bluespot Club

How is he getting in there? Can you put some netting or something to keep him out? I think he just likes roller coasters and now that he knows what fun it is he just has to do it.
Barb, My first blue had a shell that he used to cover his burrow at night and open in the morning. It was truly adorable.
Sunshine has such a vast tunnel with so many entrances she doesn't do it.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Bam Bam DID have a rock over his burrow, and as soon as light 1 came on he pushed it off and got back to work. What an incredible amount of energy these fish expend. Phew!

He did eat a piece of mysis this morning, but then ignored the rest and got back to work.

Now, a concern, maybe? It is hard to inspect his body to check for health, but I did notice a whitish area right under the two small fins on his underside. When he comes up out of his burrow that area does rub on the rocks... it doesn't look sore or fuzzy, just like the rest of his skin but without coloration. Do you think this is something to be concerned about?

Re: The Bluespot Club

Always concern, but I think the more you worry and fuse the worse you make it. It is normal for a new fish to not eat for a few days. It is normal for him to have gotten a bit banged up from shipping and cave digging (wouldn't you). I threw BJ in there and didn't have time to worry. He was in the worst shape of any Blue I have had and I had very little hope for him when he arrived. Just do what you normally do.

I guess in some regards I am glad BJ is finding the overflow and isn't ending up on the floor. Had I thought is wasn't a one time deal, I would have covered it better. It has some netting around it, but I get lazy in making sure it is situated in there right. He doesn't leave his den, so there is something fishy going on at night when I am asleep. I just couldn't believe he was in there because I had just been fishing in the overflow box for my new lost black/white perc that disappeared (even drained it so I could see and everything and took out the sock too). The perc was fine in the tank (a day later). BJ was gone. He seems ok and is doing his normal stuff.
