I'm planning on mesh screening and velcro for the canopy opening, and a bit of gutter guard for the top of the overflow. The space I need to close up is about 4in. high x 36in long. I want to use velcro because it seems as though it will be easier to remove the screening if I need to. What is a good way to attach gutter guard TO the top of the overflow?

| Plate Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Hey Barb, I'm sure there are a number of great ways to do this. I took gutter guard and cut it to the rough size of the overflow and then used a heat gun to melt the edges down around the overflow (it doesn't actually adhere to the overflow, just matches the contour for a close fit). I then used a few black zip ties to attach the front of it to the slots in the overflow and the back just slipped under the rear rim of the tank. I also heated the area around the breather hole in the overflow pvc pipe so it would sit neatly over that as well. This is a poor picture, sorry. The lights aren't on yet. ![]()

I don't have a heat gun... do you think a hairdryer on high would be enough to heat the gg to form it? I guess I could price a heat gun while I'm at the store, too.

| Plate Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Not sure if a hair dryer would work or not, perhaps if you're really patient with it. As far as a heat gun goes, I think I got mine for about $30 but I've found a use for it on a few occasions so far so it's not a bad tool to have around.

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: The Bluespot Club Oh no! Any idea what happened? Any visible signs? White spots or blotches? See if he will eat. If it is breathing heavy I would add an airstone or somehow increase the oxygen in the water. Take pics and complete tank specs/parameters and post in the disease forum and hopefully Lee will have a better idea.
