Re: The Bluespot Club

I think it has to do with the search engines. I bet if you Google BSJF your posts will come up.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Lorraine,
I have to completely tear down and move the tank so everything is getting re-done. The stand broke and I am supposed to get a new one from Oceanic at some point. I am going to take everything out and put in my old salt mixing tubs with water and Sunshine and the firefish in separate containers. Then all the sand etc.
After it is on the new stand we have a bit of plumbing to do and I am going to make the sandbed deeper before re-scaping and adding Sunshine and her new friend to the tank. Hopefully they will either be friends or each take a side of the tank for thier own. With a 90g tank I am hoping there is enough room to prevent agression but I will be watching carefully.

WOW!! Gone for the week-end and when I come back< I notice new members! Welcome everyone. It seems that we are getting some healthy blue spots around here. Maybe we can finally dispel the Blue spot disease! They still talk about it over on that "other" reef web-site!

Lorraine, a couple of pages back, you said you missed Scott. Did he go somewhere? Is Spotty O.K.?

Re: The Bluespot Club

Basser - Spotty is just fine and so is Scott.

Lynn - I don't envy you at all, but it is nice you will be able to fix stuff while you rebuild. The two that I had used to swap holes, la, la, la. I think I had a few girls. If you get two males you will need to be ready to remove one. So, have a plan for that. I think Sunshine is a girl, so you are probably fine, but you should be ready.

Woody/Frankie - Thanks for checking on this. I just don't see this in any other thread. While I'm asking, what is a Trackback?

Re: The Bluespot Club

I actually think the new one is a girl as well. I won't have a pair but shouldn't have agression problems which is the primary issue.
I just wish we could get through this whole move thing. I am very nervous and want it done.

Re: The Bluespot Club

I have just made an impulse purchase from Diver's Den...

yes! it's a BSJF!!

I imagine it won't ship until Monday since I just placed the order.

I have to make some rubble!! I have a nice Marco rock that I'm going to smash up.. it should give at least two qts worth of rubble to have at the ready.

I also collected a bunch of shells on the beach in Jamaica. I boiled them twice in RO/DI water and added them to the tank, so I imagine those can be used for building materials, too.

This weekend; screening and velcro are on the shopping list! Gotta get the back of the canopy closed up tight before delivery day!

I AM VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!

Re: The Bluespot Club

How wonderful!
You know you must post pics when it gets there.
Make sure to have all sizes of rubble. They can move things far larger than you would think they can. They love shells of any kind. I recently got a bunch from my LFS and a bunch from the beach. Boiled them all and Sunshine has built several new palaces.
I can't wait to see the newest member of the club.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Thanks, Lynn! I'm SO excited to see him/her! I'll be sure to bash that rock into different sizes. I'll be sure to post pictures as soon as I get some. I'm thinking of names already and I really like the Flintstones theme... Bam Bam or Pebbles strike my fancy right now, but I'll need to see the fish in action before I decide for sure.

Basser1, this is my first reef AND my first BSJF... I'm pretty new at this still but I can tell it's going to be a life long love of mine.
