Hmm bigger mouths. I guess that does make sense. The fun part will be deciding who has a bigger mouth.
I think Sunshine's is fairly small in relation to the other one I had. I'll have to compare when I go to HR.
Now I am excited about the concept again. Plus Frank is going to Houston Tues. Do I dare do this while he is away? It could backfire on me if they fight but if they get along it would be a pleasant suprise when he gets home.
Tomorrow is my birthday after all. Can I buy myself a present? I know what you guys will say. You'll all say yes because you want pics of two blues together.
I'm going to have to think about this.

Yeah, I think it is easier said than done. Even folks who are used to sexing fish don't really say they can do this with Bluespots.

BJ is a male, that's my story anyway.

So have you guys replaced the stand? Sunshine is back in her/his hole? Can you block off a section of the tank and place a new one in there and keep it blocked off until it digs a spot for himself?

I think Sunshine is a girl as well. At least she has a smaller mouth than many I have seen. Now I just need to go to HR and see if I can tell what they have. If Sunshine is a female then it should be ok regardless. From what I hear it is only 2 males that fight.
Still don't have the new stand. I am trying to be patient but it is not working very well.
If I am going to get a second blue I will get them to hold it until I move everything over. That should confuse Sunshine as well and they would both be on new turf.
I am really sad that I have to destroy all of her hard work but it does give me a chance to make the sandbed deeper and get more flow and re-aquascape. I keep trying to think of the positives.

Good idea.
I can take pics of both blues at the LFS and Sunshine and post them for feedback. I'll have to wait until tomorrow though. It is almost time to pick up the girls.
Unless I sneak out and get Frank to pick up the girls. Sounds like an even better plan and then I can get opinions today. I can ask about the stand and shipping at the same time. I forget what their hours are on Sunday. I can always call though.

I'm glad the store will hold your new baby! Can't wait to see pics.

The video is short because BJ doesn't really do much. This is about as active has he gets. He is lazy. When you have the perfect spot there is no need to redecorate.

In an effort to prevent jumping I went to Ace hardware and got a piece of plexi glass and put it over my tank. Plexiglass cracks when you drill it, so I got a wood burner thing for burning designs in wood and melted holes all around it for ventalition. I am still watching the temp though.

You can see BR's old burrow just as he left it on the left hand side. The new one will be pleasantly surprised to find it.Only 3 more days till he gets here!

BTW, if anyone is interested, ebay now has 2 sellers offering blue spots for sale!

TB aquatics doesn't have any listed right now so this may be a good alternative.
