Well looks like Rocky likes the second floor better. He has now made home in between my shelves, right next to my clam. I thought that BSJF liked the sand

Its great to see him out and about exploring the tank tho, I think he finally realized that there is no danger. So here are more pics for ya....

The rocks are so packed in there he probably thinks it is the bottom. Nice shots!

Thanks everyone!! Well Rocky has gone on a building spree now. I woke up this morning (by morning I meen 12:30pm

)and he now has about 7 homes built. What a nut he is!! I can't wait to get him in the 120 gallon, I can tell he wants more room. I Will take pics and post when I get home from work...

Hey guys I was referred here from a member of nano-reef, he told me I should join this little club! So aside from posting pictures i'm not sure if there are any other things to do to join?

Anyways here goes, I set up a 46 gallon bowfront that was given to me specifically to house 2 Bluespot Jawfish. It has about 25lbs of liverock and around 6" (on average) of live sand. The 2 bs's i purchased had been at the LFS for around 3 weeks or so in a display refugium with a dsb. They were 2 that survived out of 5 or so. So after waiting patiently to gauge their health i took them home.

After acclimation and a short period of figuring out their new home they both started burrowing, the burrow on the left has remained but the one on the right has moved to the base of the rock as you can see in some photos. It has been amazing to watch these 2 do what they do!

One question for you bluespot guys, I don't know if they are male/female i have seen no signs of that yet, obviously i would love for them breed but that was not the purpose of setting this tank up. Anyways one thing i have noticed is they have been sharing/swapping burrows, i can tell the 2 apart by some of their markings and it seems every other day or so they have swapped burrows, is this normal, anyone experience this?

I have seen no signs of aggression between the 2 other than when i first put them in there was some jaw flaring when one got close to the first's burrow but once they both settled in it's been nothing but peaceful.

Welcome to the Club dekand! Those are two sweet little BSs. Looks like you have the ideal set up. One thing I would suggest is more rubble. They are found in nature in the flat rubble zone just off the reef face. No one has been able to tell the sexes apart, except that males fight.

The BSC is for sharing and exchanging experiences and ideas on this fascinating species. If you hear of any information about these fish, please post it here. Again welcome to the best little Club on the net!

thanks for the welcome!

as far as rubble goes i have been adding a lot every few days because they use it up QUICK so i'll get a piece of liverock and smash it up to bits and drop in there for them and they immediately go at it... so i try to keep them "stocked" as best as possible, that picture was just after they were done using most of it!

and i will certainly share any information i come across about these awesome fish, it's nice to have a little club devoted to them, it should be a big help in organizing information...

You will find a lot of friendly and helpful people here. And if you haven't already found out by now, we are just a "little" obsessed with these fish!
