Re: The Bluespot Club

Lynn, I really do hope you are able to find your BS this week. I'm glad you've been around here today. I can't believe no one else has stopped in to say hi. BTW, we missed you this past week. Looks like Dentoid might be famous. He's probably telling his Bluespot about his day and we are going to have to wait.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Hi Everyone!!! BlueSpots must be in the air.... I havent been on this site for a while, and guess what....I'll be transfering over my current tank to a 120 soon and I talked my daughter into giving her FW tank to a friend due to space confinements and sharing my SW tank. I tempted her with the thought of a BlueSpotted Jawfish. I ordered it on Friday, they will hold it for a week after it arrives. That will give me time to complete the transfer of the tank from my garage into the house, the BS will be the first addition for obvious reasons. Everyone else is going to have to deal with the new environment. I'll post pics after it's settled

That's great! Looking forward to having you in the Club!

Lorraine, I'm far from being famous, but I did rub elbows with the Sprungster today!

Dotty is doing great. Throwing sand and rocks all over the platythoas that have graciously allowed her to build under their rock! Her facade changes daily and I think she uses the rocks to line her burrow. I love watching her rearranging the rocks at the entrance to her burrow. It's comical!

Lynn, how's it going with the search? Any blue babies on the way?

Re: The Bluespot Club

I'm glad to see that everyone has finally reported in. Welcome KimPossible.
So, is an ordered Bluespot as good as having one? I think I will make you an honorary member and then when all is settled in we can change the status - more fun for me that way. Make sure and post pics in the gallery so you can make the front page news. Sounds like you will have a very busy week! Please make sure that the parameters in your tank are stable before you add your Bluespot.

Re: The Bluespot Club

not sure how to enclose my new tank, i want it to def hold in the fish , but be easily accesible, i was thining about gutter guard like woodstock and maybe velcro-ing on so i could easily move it if needed for clean up and feeding.
WHat if though, i drilled holes into the Glass tank covers that have the hinges and make access very easy, but are not always liked b/c of heating issues. Will drilling small holes all over it reduce the heating issue and solve my problem???

Re: The Bluespot Club

I have taken off my glass hoods, and I'm using the gutter guard panel with the velcro. Access is easier than with the glass hood. It is a bit harder getting pumps in and out, but with the velcro it is very functional even to do that. I can take the whole back off if I need to and put it back up. I'm sure over time, I would need to replace the velcro pieces. Make sure to get the velcro for smooth surfaces. I will set up my new canopy the same way.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Well not the countdown can really begin.
I hit that scary checkout button and my new baby should be on his way tomorrow for delivery Wed morning. Of course since they had free shipping for orders over 225 I had to buy a few other goodies as well. LOL
I got a nice scrolling hammer, 2 scissortails, 2 citron clown gobies, and 2 blue green chromis plus of course my long awaited bluespot. I will let everyone know of course as soon as he or she arrives. I used a new to me on-line store called reefhotspot.com. They have a 14 day arrive alive gurarantee which is longer than any I have seen before and bluespots are only 109. I thought that was a pretty good price. The out the door price for all my goodies was like 253 and change including the packaging fee. This may end up being another good on-line retailer. I will let you know. The coral was a WYSIWYG so I am really looking forward to that as well.
Ok I need to calm down now and get some work done. I guess I need to email my boss and ask for Wed off now. LOL
