Re: The Bluespot Club

Lorraine, I'm still waffling. I'm planning on moving my Royal Gramma and Coral Beauty into the 110 once it's ready, and making the 70 into a peaceful tank: a firefish (or pair), clown goby, blenny...I think these would all be fine with a BS, and with the accidental depth of my sandbed, it's a perfect spot. I'm just so worried about their record in captivity.

Adam you have a legitimate concern. There are some members here that have had success keeping blue spots. Jstorey has had his for over a year and Scott has had his Spotty for quite some time now! However, I think the best way to success is making sure you start out with a healthy specimen. I bought my Polky from my LFS. They had him for about a month, and I asked them to feed him so I could see him eating. He ate like a pig and he had made several burrows in the tank. If you're looking on-line to buy one, I would recommend Live Aquaria. There you can see what you're getting, plus they have an excellent QT process and an arrive alive guarantee. You're already doing something important to insure success with a blue spot....... you're on this forum! Which is full of good info and support, just ask Lynn and others!

If I get one, I'm definitely going to use Liveaquaria. I have yet to hear a poor review, and their QT process is fantastic. I just wish they did that for all their fish, not just the Divers Den ones.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Well Sparkles was at his back door this morning and looked very sad. Not sure how a fish could look sad but he did. He didn't come out to greet me but sometimes he does and sometimes he doesn't. He did eat well last night so I am not offically worried, just watching closely.
I feel like a mom about this fish. People at work laugh at me. They don't understand how much personality a fish can have.
Anyway, update tonight. Hopefully he will eat dinner. That would make me feel a lot better.

Maybe he's just not a "morning fish"...more of a night owl, I mean fish? I can relate to Sparkles, once again!

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Well sparkes got a name change this weekend.
I kept calling him Sunshine so I guess that is the name I will stick with. I never really liked calling him Sparkles to begin with. I think this will work a lot better.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Great new name! He/she can have two names, first and middle. Sunshine Sparkles or Sparkles Sunshine. Then you can call him/her by either name. You can even give him/her a title like:

Sir Sunshine Sparkles
Baroness Sparkles Sunshine
Frauline Sunshine Sparkles
Prince Sparkles Sunshine

The list could be endless!

I think it will be prince sunshine sparkles. That has a good ring to it. LOL
Not only am I naming fish but they have a full name now. That is just too funny.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Hey everyone, hope you and your Blues, are doing fine! O.K. now picture this. I'm watchin' the tank and my Blue is busy diggin' and spittin' sand. All the while, I'm also watchin' the NCAA basketball game, the T.V. is next to the tank. Now since I live in Indiana (Hoosier Country), at halftime I see 2 of my favorite coaches on ESPN, Bob Knight and Digger Phelps! While I'm listenin' to Digger and watchin my Blue, still diggin' and spittin' away, all of a sudden it occurs to me!! My blue's name should be Digger! And I figured, Hey! since Lynn changed the name of her Blue,,, why not me?

So Scott, if it's O.K. with you, I'm requesting a name change for my Blue, "Digger"!
