| Manta Ray | Re: The Bluespot Club I am going to florida in a few weeks. I hate to leave Jose all alone. SO I am designing a Blue Spot Jawfish collar and leash. Megan and I are going to do some free diving. I figured this would be a great chance for jose and I to really bond. I think he is getting chubby, he needs to excercise. He wont get off his lazy but unless I do it with him so we are going to start swimming togather. Anyone else want to bring their BSJF, this could be a great BSJF meeting/diving convention. ~Michael

| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Yep, been here just looking at the phone waiting for the call. Glad to hear your Spotty is doing good for you Kimoy. Good thing I live in Florida, I will have to get a leash for mine I guess and take him out on the beach for walks, make sure he stays in shape. ![]() |

| Over Achiever | Re: The Bluespot Club I'm all for careful and conscientious acclimation, but 4 hours is over the top! In that amount of time that little volume of water can change in pH, temperture and build up with metabolites excreted by the fish. That long of an acclimation with fish can be stressful and detrimental. 2 hours is pushing it and should be the max! |

| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club So, He came in pretty late and I got him home now. He is currently acclimating. I was advised not to do such a long acclimation therefore I am only doing an hour and a half. So, he has another hour to go. These are some pictures I was able to snap. I would take better ones, but I am trying not to stress him out as much as possible. ![]() ![]() And this is where I will introduce him into. Lights out. So, that is as good as it is gonna look for now. ![]() I can't believe my LFS had 3 of these guys in. Of course I had first pick at them. Two were already sold and the other one is there waiting for a buyer. |

| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Thanks, will do. I am in the dark right now and I am working with the moonlights and a red LED flashlight I have.I will cover my tank and just let him do his thing. I am by no means a photographer, but I love taking pictures and he sure is one lovely fish I will take plenty of pictures of when I can. I chose this little guy because he just sat there and stared at me. The other two were too busy trying to figure out what was going on, while he just kept looking up at me(plus he was the largest and most colorful). So I bagged him myself and got him on his way home. Its funny how so many people really have never seen this fish and once they see one they love it. There were about 4 other people in the store and all of them just kept staring at them wishing they could take one home. |

| Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | Re: The Bluespot Club I wouldn't go for more than an half an hour to an hour on the drip. I actually never had a loss on long distance shipped fish with floating the bag to temp, dumping all the water in the bag down the drain and then letting the fish slip out of the bag into the tank with lights out. The PH and low oxygen, as Scott indicated are the real stressors in long distance shipping. Minimal stress, no damage to the slime coat, and the water quality of the tank is always better than what's in the plastic ship bag!
