| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Well, I picked up my BS and acclimated him for 2 hours, drip process. He is now in the 75G tank his new home and is in a hole on a base rock. I have the lights out, so I hope to see him start to burrow tonight. I will check on him constantly through the night with a red LED flash light I have. He is very amusing, when I check on him with the light he peers out to see what's going on. Here is a picture of him acclimating it was a bit dark so this is the best picture I could get. I would take a picture of him in the whole he is in, but I figure using the flash might stress him. I will post when he begins to burrow. |

| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Thanks. He is doing great, he has already started burrowing, unfortunately behind a rock, but I figure its ok since he will burrow everywhere and maybe soon closer towards the front. When I flashed the light towards where he is at he just peers out to see what's going on. I'm just glad he is taking good to the tank and is burrowing. I will see about feeding him tomorrow some silverside. Sorry I am just a bit of the worrying type and don't think I will sleep well until he is settled in. |

| Tridacna maxima ![]() | Re: The Bluespot Club Harry needs his own thread, so you have some work to do! He will eventually move to the front, they love to be able to see what is going on. What has he been eating at the lfs? Mine don't take silversides as quickly as mysis and krill. Make sure and soak it in a good vitamin supplement.

| Over Achiever | Re: The Bluespot Club Congratulations H2O! You are now in da Club! Welcome! I see that you have discovered one of the greatest characteristics of the BS, they are very curious. Soon enough he will develope a personality all his own. Lorraine, what kind of Silversides do you get there. I've never had any problems getting my BSs to take a piece of Silverside! One of my favorite feeding sessions with my BS is when the moon lights are on. All the other fish are hiding in the rockwork. I turn off the pumps and drop a piece of Silverside over his burrow. The morsel slow decends and Spotty slow ascends to meet the tid-bit then he quickly darts back into his burrow. Fun and games with a BSJF! ![]() |

| Over Achiever | Re: The Bluespot Club I did not offer Silversides as a first food. I use them as treats. My main food for all of my tank is Mysis and Plankton. I occasionally will feed newly hatched brine shrimp. You want to see something funny. Watch your fish feeding on something you can't see! ![]() |

| Manta Ray | Re: The Bluespot Club I do the same as dentoid. I feed mysis and cyclops. And I give silversides and table shrimp as a treat. Jose LOVES silversides. He has yanked a Whole silverside from my hand before, he tried to swallow it whole but had to chew on it for about 5 min. before he could get it down. Scott is right when when he says that it is funny to watch fish eat invisible food.LOL

| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Thanks, I tried silversides but it seems he is not interested only the nassarius snails came out to eat. I have cyclopeeze and frozen brine I feed my corals, so I will try those later. Thanks for the advice. He seems to be very well, after of 2 hours of being up and burrowing he went to sleep behind the rock somewhere. He just recently woke up I guess because he hadn't come out when I turned on the lights until after I added the pieces of silverside. I will wait to add baby brine until I get a full cleanup crew in the tank. I plan on geting 25 more nassarius, 25 cerith and another 50 blue leg hermits. right now I have 3 turbos, 2 mexican turbos, 10 blue leg hermits and maybe 10 nassarius. So I really don't want to add too much food he won't eat. I really hope he comes to the front of the tank, possibly somewhere where I could really enjoy seeing him. |

| Fire Coral | Re: The Bluespot Club Hmm..I have had a bad experience with scarlets. They were the first type I tried using and they would eat at my corals. I was finally able to feed my Harry. He moved to a spot behind a rock that was a little more accessible and I was able to blow some brine shrimp towards him and he ate some. He is doing quite well as I was able to look at him without him going in a hole and is quickly building holes throughout the tank. It was a bit dark where he was, so this was the best picture I could take. |
