Re: The Bluespot Club

I figured it would be cruel to make someone read through all our posts to figure out who is who and what is what. I'm glassy eyed myself (seeing blue spots)!

I'm going to try and get this made as a sticky, and move it to the fish section, so if the forum comes up missing, you will know where to find us. Dentoid also has a few secrets up his sleeve.

Re: The Bluespot Club

Ooh! You guys/gals are making this soooo tempting for me to get a bluespot! My LFS gets about 3 every 2-3 weeks for $99/ each.

One of my other LFS's has this cool setup just for a bluespot. They have a 12g nanocube with some LR and corals, and in the front middle, there's a pile of CC and shells with a bluespot in it! They also put a label on the top of the tank that says "Hi! My name is Bunker, and yes, I built this." Its so cool!

Re: The Bluespot Club

BrothaWolf - In response to your PM, I've been looking at your tank journal for your bio cube and did a bit of research on the Randall's goby. I think a BS would work in that (with a cover). I haven't ever had a Randall goby myself, but they appear to be peaceful fish. They do have similar body types, so that is always a bit of a flag, but if I had your Biocube, I wouldn't hesitate. Because of the small size of the tank, I would not add any other bottom dweller to the tank if you add a BS in there. Has the Biocube cycled? I would definitely wait for the tank to mature a few months, and I'd try and get your rock and corals in there too (or at least the majority of them so you don't mess with his house too much).

I used rock that I cured for a month and then most of it was in the 75's sump so its good to go Sand is all live and seeded from the 75... Will he need some cc and shells to build his house or is it twigs and straw... no wait thats the little piggys...

Re: The Bluespot Club

BrothaWolf - He won't need any cc, but they like to brace it with shells and/or rock rubble.

fidojoe - Bunker is very cute name. Have they had him there very long?

I think its been almost a year now... I don't go into that store very often so I don't know exactly when it went up. The store is nice, but very pricey. They want $150+ for bluespots, where I can get one just as healthy and large a couple miles away for $99. Their prices are about the same comparatively across the board, and their "main employee" drives me nuts (knows his stuff, but comes off a little strong)

Re: The Bluespot Club

I copied your photo and added it to my photo gallery. Figured you wouldn't mind. If you want to put one in your gallery, I can replace the one I just added -- saw your photo update and I just did this.
