OT: AF Academy Pics

One of our clients for my "real" job is the US Air Force. We have done the web sites for www.airforce.com and www.afrotc.com and are currently redesigning the Academy admissions site.

I was sent to supervise a 1-week video and still photography shoot. I brought my camera and made myself the photographer.

It was an awesome learning experience, so many different types of photography rolled into one very long, tiring week.

Here are my "keepers" from the first day of shooting.

The guy from their lead ad agency wants me to send him hi-res images so they can use them in the print campaign ;D so I haven't done much or (in most cases) any sharpening- so if a few look soft, trust me, they're not.

I'll post more as I get the galleries up.

Cools pics Travis! I noticed that in one pic the church looked normal and in the next the steeple inside looked blue. How'd you do that?

Mark liked the bird of prey! He said it looked like a GRY Peregrine hybrid.
Is the bird a mascot or something?

Wow, Mark nailed it! It is a falcon, the Academy's mascot- they have several falconers who raise, train and handle the falcons. This falcon's name was Apollo. He's a cross between the biggest and fastest falcons, I know peregrine was one of them.

About the blue- there was some freaky blue coloration in the church coming from the stained glass I think. The shot at the back had much more of it going on. In some pics I emphasized the blue, in others I tried to tone it down.
