Macro, Sharpness??

Alright guys...

still using the 18-55m lens.. is there anyway to get sharper Macro shots with it... ?

This is the best i can pull off so far..

1) make sure you are at or further away than it's minimum focusing distance
2) Put it on a tripod
3) Use the timer or a remote shutter release
4) Turn off your pumps and powerheads
5) front of the lens as parallel to the front of the glass as possible
6) you may need to manually focus

Tripod.. lol, Humm That means i gotta move my Couch every time i want to photograph somthing

Somthing i can try..

Timer i can do, Remote Shutter.. ??? what are they.. Where can i get one

Using the Manual Focus.. is sooo bloody hard sometimes in that little view finder.

Manual focus is something you're gonna have to get used to with macro. Just takes some practice is all.

Timer is just as good as remote shutter, just a little less convenient.

FWIW, there is a hack for the rebel remote shutter release that uses a cell phone head set, or something like that, alot cheaper than the canon remotes, and FWIW, I got an aftermarket remote for the 20d off ebay for about 20 bucks after shipping, might look into them.
