Finally Picked up a Rebel!

Hello,

Alright well today i just got back from picking up a Canon Digital Rebel, I was going to grab the XT but could not get over how much smaller it felt, So i stuck with the original for now, Still contimplating exchanging... lol,

Well this camera has only been out of the box for about 10 mins and i tried to snap off a couple of pictures.. This is all Auto, with the factory lens...

Hopefully i will get much better at this soon

Now i just gotta wait for the battery to recharge..

Thanks
Michael..

Any tips would be apreaciated..

I would suggest using AV mode. The only modes where you really have control are AV, TV and manual (not recommended).

Time to start learning!!!!

man oh man,

I have never had as much fun getting soo flustered.. lol, Its just unbelieavable the difference with this camera.. I think i might acutally have to take a glance at the manual to see how it all works! ..

Thanks for the Advice Travis.. Right now i have been playing with just the presets the "Auto" and the "Macro" so i will give the AV a shot and see what happens.

AV means you picks the aperture and the camera picks the corresponding shutter speed. For close macros, you'll want a pretty high f-stop value. Hint: Look up "depth of field preview" in the manual... possibly the number 1 reason to go SLR.

I know the feeling, I have been wanting one sense they first came out.. but man i tell you the hardest part of getting it was getting the okay from the wife! Man on man! .. She just could not figure out why my previous cameras where not good enough.. lol

But as luck had it.. we went to a family thing.. got some GREAT pictures on my old camera.. and she wanted the one she LOVED enlarged 8x10 and it just did not look good.. could not do it..

So i rubbed in that well.. " You know honey, With the new camera i want, This would never have happend" lol,

So now that i have it. I need to ensure that i ALLWAYS Shot in high quality.. Just incase.
