Hey you have a nice tank there and nicer corals than I will ever have.

Maybe you addressed this, but why dont you have sand on the bottom?

ALL of us should be proud of the microcosm of the ocean we "created" in our homes.

Youre one of the most knowledgeable people I have interacted with online, and Im sure you can create the tank of your dreams....just gotta add those corals piece by piece. Just takes patience, money and a vision. We're our own worst critics. Theres so much Id love to do, but I dont have the space or the money to do it. Bummer.

Sometimes I feel like I got addicted to this stuff.

I had a much nicer collection before losing a few peices to an acro parasite.

Bare bottom tanks are used in conjunction with high flow and heavy skimming to remove organics before they break down...

Does having a bare bottom tank limit what you can put in the tank?

yes. no sand sifting fish or fish that bury in the sand or require burrows etc...
typically it is a low nutrient environment, so corals from higher nutient environments don't thrive...

Its obvious you think things through and have reasons for the different aspects of your setup.

If you asked me why I have sand, Id say, "because I think it looks good." LOL
