New Pics Macro Setting - Page 2

Fantastic pic Craig... i have never been able to get my gramma to hold still enough to get a macro shot.. you must be very patient.. some beautiful fish and ricordia. i think taking pictures is half the fun with the reef.

Getting very good craig! Your best are still the non-moving objects, which is no surprise. On the moving ones, try pushing your "AF/WB" button on the top of the cam, then using the dial on the top to set "AI Focus" on the bottom right of the LCD screen. What that does is tracks the focus on the fish once you set it there- you can follow the fish around the tank and the AF automatically adjusts as the fish moves further and closer. Takes some practice, but well worth it!

Also on the fish facing toward you, try focusing more toward the eyes.

Thanks Dan,

As new addition, the Royal Gramma hangs out near the rock ledge you can see in the photo. It is a mature fish who, now that it is more comfortable with it's tank mates, is doing more free swimmimg and may be more difficult to photograph in the future.
