18-55 macro (Craig)

I took this the other day with my 10D, this was as close as I could focus with the 18-55mm kit lens. Actually this was at 44mm so it might get a weeee bit more magnification but this is pretty close.

Not bad for a $100 lens.

It's much better when stoped down to about f/8 BTW.

You are right Travis, F8 is the magic number for this lens.

I was able to pull off these two shots with it...

and this one...

Nice N sharp Johnny!

FYI, F/8 is typically where you'll find the best performance for most lenses. A good rule of thumb anyway.
