This is not curious at all. I don't like this and clean the back-wall with every water change (every week), a quite easy explanation.

By the way .... a thin film green algae form there over and over again, food for my starfishes and sea urchins. One does not see the algae, however, because only very little light in the back wall shines.

Sarah, I use a AquaMedic Ocean Light 2x150W 14500k (Giesemann bulbs)- 2 x 24 Watt T5 AQUA Science Blue (Fauna Marine bulbs) and one Aqua Medic Sunbeam 2X39 Watt with AQUA Science Spezial 14.000k (Fauna Marine bulbs) for the background. All light radiates the Sunbeam down and in front (approx. 70 ° forwards), this is the reason for the dark effect of my backwall.
