Re: The Full Tank Shot Thread!!!

I need to get a current shot. All of my SPS have really shot off in the last two months. My birdsnest is almost twice the size it is in the pic. Almost all of the SPS are now about 1-2 inches larger than in the last shot. Plus I have several more new corals. Ill take a new pic soon.

Re: The Full Tank Shot Thread!!!

Here are a few suggestions for the layout:

- Your layout is very flat looking on top. I suggest you create differences in height in the rock structure.

- To enhance the sense of depth, create layers of rock. A path of sand all the way until the back glass works great too, especially if it's a bit sideways or curved. Just don't do it right in the middle of the tank, because that would create symmetry.

- Leave the sand area open and clean and get all the corals to the rock. If a coral must stand in the sand, then it should be right next to a rock;

- The bridges very often look artificial;

- Don't scatter the corals through the tank. Instead, create areas with corals and areas without corals. Take colors and shapes into account. Similar colors will look very good together, as well as similar shapes. It's like playing domino, each piece should have something in common with its neighbors (color or shape).

- Don't place corals like their on display on a shelf. All your corals are vertical. Try to place them like they are a continuation of the rock's shape.

- If you have a coral you think it should really show off, then create a proper set so that it really shines. The set may include a group of corals with contrasting color. If your main coral is blue, a background of pale yellow/orange corals will look great. You can do this 2 times, no more than 2 centerpieces. And these centerpieces should not stay in the middle of the tank.

Re: The Full Tank Shot Thread!!!

clikk the pic in your gallery, it brings it up, scroll down below it, and it will have the hyperlink there in a text box, hit the button to the right that says "copy to clipboard"

its best to keep 2 windows open, 1 w/ yer post, and one with yer gallery
