New camera?

I'm thinking about a new camera to get better photos of my tank.

I really enjoy photography, but don't pretend I know much about it.

What do you guys n' gals think about this camera:

Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 Lens (Black)

I don't think the lens is anything special, but hopefully its something I can upgrade in the future.

I found it for $587.04 Shipped on J&R.

Appreciate the feedback,

Drew

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Re: New camera?

Do you know much about the lens options for these? I'm very interested in macro shots - can you recommend a macro lens?

Thanks!

Thanks PSH - I'll have to take a spending break here for a while, but I'll write that one down. Appreciate the info.

Re: New camera?

As far as the camera goes i would look at the digital cannon rebel xti they have much better photo quality and are a much nicer camera. Another one to check out is any of the nikon d40, d50, or the d80 I myself have a d50.

As far as lenses go, you can check out best buys zoom/macro lenses something that goes down to 50mm - a 600mm would be nice. Or if you look at sigma lenses they are very nice! What i hope to get something here pretty soon!

I went with the XTi aqua - hopefully I'll come up with a photo like your entry in the contest this month, very impressive man.
