photo sizes?

I tried to add some pics to my gallery. In order to make them smaller than 10K i had to resize them to 230 X 310. This makes them tiny when viewed. How do you get pics under the size limits and still retain their original size? I'll figure all this stuff out eventually i guess!

If you have Windows XP, then download their image resizer >>HERE<<

There are also free programs like GIMP

I'm not really good at the photos so someone else might have a better idea.

After resizing to around 800 X 600 or 640 X 480, use your photo editing software to compress/optimize your pics.

I use photoshop 7, I usually resize the heigh to 480, and it automatically adjusts the height, cause I usually crop a little, and I've never had a problem with size. HTH

under 10K? Is that a typo? You've got a photo nut in the driver's seat! If there's a 10K max photo size somewhere, I'm on it baby!

I have the photo gallery set at waaaaaay more than 10K.

Now, if you try to upload a pic to a thread, we probably have the limit at 100K....

Please clarify and if there's an issue somewhere I'll fix it right up.

You were right Travis, it must have been too late at night when i tried it the first time- worked like a champ this morning!

HTH __________________ *Member "Crabs Are Evil" Society* My Tank: 90g AGA, 18g tall sump, CSS 220 w/ meshmod impeller, 4x54w Tek T5 retro w/ IC reflectors, Kalk reactor w/ aquamedic niveaumat system, a few SPS, LPS, zoos, and a few softies, 2 Ocellaris Clowns (hosted by both a RBTA and GBTA), Yellow Watchman, Potter's angel, Yellow Tang, Foxface, Midas Blenny, Purple Pseudo, huge brittle star, 2 tigertail cukes, fire shrimp, snails, and unfortunately two emerald crabs (the bubble algae got out of control).
