New macro lens..

The following pics were taken with a Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 with Bower 58mm stacked #1m #2, & #4 lenses. This is my first Macro lens kit, and I have a lot to learn.. but I was pleased with the outcome so far.

Thanks

Jason

Re: New macro lens..

Just a couple of suggestions, your white balance seems to be on the high side, also you might want to mess with your aperture. Other than that, sweet lens!

Re: New macro lens..

Thanks for the tips. I am still getting used to the camera. I have found on the white balance, it looks different on the camera at time of photo than when you get it on the PC. It looked perfect till I saw it on the big screen. lol

Re: New macro lens..

I just looked and white balance was set on 800... I will drop it down and see how they turn out.

Re: New macro lens..

I was wrong in the white balance. It only gives me the settings auto, daylight, fluorescent, incandescent, flash, one push, and one push set. The setting I said was on 800 was ISO. Here is a pic with it set on 200 ISO and Auto on white balance. It appears a little better...Thanks for the compliments! I am still in learning mode.

Thanks

Re: New macro lens..

did you mess with the aperture on that one? It seems to be better if you didnt mess with it... Is this an SLR camera?

Re: New macro lens..

I did not mess with the aperture in the last pic.. I know I have the ablilty on my camera, but I have no idea what it does, or how to use it. A crash course would be cool if you have the time.. Thanks

Re: New macro lens..

Aperture basically changes how deep the image is in focus. If you have a higher aperture it takes longer to take the picture but you get a better depth on the picture. If you have a moving object then obviously you need a quick shutter speed, how fast the image is captured, as you cant wait to get the deeper depth. On corals, if you turn off the pumps, you can get a great depth and use a higher aperture as they do not move unless the pumps are on. Cameras are really something you just gotta play with for awhile. You learn so much by just pushing buttons and seeing how they effect your picture and you can decide what settings you like and which ones you dont want to use.
