That colt "frag"of yours is huge the pic doesn't do it justice. has its own ecosystem in his branches. Houses two gobies and others on occasion

ahh da skimmer.

I have it emptying above the sump but it is still being wierd. I am saving pennies for a euroreef or an ASM. I have an eductor setup ready to be put in place instead of the beckett but haven't swaped it in yet. I am going to move around the beckett head first putting it closer to the box.

The cyano is comming back in my tank so something is going to have to be done. i imagine it is a combination of skimmer/dsb/low flow in that area but dunno.

Are you trying to lower the bubble rate? When the Beckett style skimmer became popular everyone that had built one said "the longer the down tube the better" this was to give the air more contact time.

That cyano stuff is unbelievable, I don't really know exactly what cured our problem because we changed too many things at once, but I honestly believe the lights had something to do with our problem.
