| Fire Coral | sizing pictures-photoshop I have a question, after I trnasfer a photo into photoshop, I try to shrink the pic down to fit on the web. I go to pixels and get the rigure 650x400 (estimation) pixel size, but my file size is still way to big. I think it can only be 150K, but my pics even though I save them a JPEG or JEG and they are 600x400 pixel size the file is still 440K... what am I doing wrong. Inorder to get the file under 150K, I have to make it really small..

| Dragon Moderator ![]() | Also check the resolution (DPI) that you save the photos in. For the web you really only need about 72DPI and a lot of cameras save with 300 or greater. This will also cause large file sizes.

| Plate Coral ![]() | yes make sure that your resolution is 75 dpi. I found that to be best. also when you click 'save for web' that you save pictures as JPGs not Gifs. Graphics use th .gif extension and Pictures use .jpg, you'll notice a huge difference in quality. EK
