Let's see those macros!!

Always liked browsing through macro shots. Amazing how much detail there is in the creatures we keep, and how much can be captured in pixels (or on film).

So please use this thread to post your favorite macro shots. Would also be nice to include your camera, and any setting info which you might want to share.

This is a recent macro shot of my teal favia brain coral. It was shot with a Canon Powershot G3 using a tripod, on aperture priority with the aperture closed as far as possible (highest F stop value), in macro mode (obviously), and with the flash disabled.

I used Adobe Photoshop 5.5 to crop the area of interest, adjust the levels, filter with unsharp mask, and make the border.

Look forward to seeing what you have to show.

Camera is a Canon G3 I also used a tripod I used the autofocus no flash in macro mode. Used photoshop 7.0 cropped and added some contrast don't know how to use other features yet such as putting a border around the pic...will have to play around I guess

Here are a few I like so far. I’m still learning but all these are from the Nikon 5700.
I used Photoshop to edit as per Travis PS thread.
My biggest problem now is getting quality fish pics and getting the true colors to show.

I'm on dial up, I don't mind thirty...just limit them to one per post and do thirty posts. The difference between 15 pics on one page of a thread and 45 (cause 30 were put in one post) is amazing to the dial up user.

Sharks, nice pics!!

I really like the one of the pavona coral. I have one pavona frag in my tank; got it about 6 months ago and it is showing some nice growth, but nowhere near as nice as the one in your pic. Looking forward to seeing how mine looks in a few years.

If you haven't tried my aperture trick, it is worthwhile. It gives an appreciably larger depth of field.
