| Achilles Tang ![]() | ?Ins and outs of posting pics? So call me ignorant (or a novice) but I cannot figure out all the wonders of sharing photos on this board. (Finally have the camera situation up and running -- at least minimally) I can see how to attach a pic when I create a new thread, but what about when I am responding to a thread in progress? Is there a size standard? How do I use the whole gallery section? How do I add text when uploading to the gallery? I have probably just missed some simple stuff somewhere, but I need a little how-to here. Would this tutorial be a good 'sticky' in the photography forum - or elsewhere? Thanks folks - I'm looking forward to sharing some shots. ![]()

| Smilie Bartender ![]() | First you'll want to resize the pics. A max of 800x600 should be about right. Don't force it into those numbers, just get it into the neighborhood. Here's one of mine at 819x577. ![]() But when you upload to the gallery at this size, it automatically makes a smaller and more forum-friendly version for you. Like this: ![]() Once you have resized a photo, follow sambot's advice and the photo gallery should walk you through the upload process- it'sfairly straiughtforward. Then, once you've done that, view your pic in the gallery at the size you want to post it. Right-click on the photo and select "properties." A box should come up with a URL. Copy the URL. (Crtl+C). Then go to the thread you want to post it in. Paste (ctrl+V) the URL into a reply, and surround it with the image tags, which are these without the spaces in them: [ img] then URL then[ /img] So to post that second one, I did this (but again, without the spaces) [ img]http://www.reefsanctuary.com/photopost/data/500/3Spawning2web-med.jpg[ /img] HTH. Let me know in this thread if you have any more questions. T
