Here I have applied a rough sketch over my graphite drawing on the canvas. I have added some mid-tones and shadows with a dark blue pigment and Liquin medium. This will allow a universal tint in my shading.

This is where I start to freak out... Things are looking sloppy, but with good reason. I just keep telling myself, "The end result will not look like this. I need this layer for shading......"

My wife kinda like it and made a comment that it looks like a Japanese script painting.

A lot depends on the subject(s) and size. This one (26"x30") will run about $350-$400. The prints would be way less than half that.

Wow! Very impressed! You should put some of your things up for sell in the RS store. Maybe a percentage could go to the site. Just a thought!! Keep coming with your progress!

After letting my underpaint dry and setting a tonal shade (I didn't post pics of that since it was basically just a blue tint to the canvas), I painted most of the background excluding textures. Clouds are now appearing as well as a hint of some waves. Also, the fade to the deep blue and the sand bottom are making their presence known.
