Good call but it's so far at the top already and the way it's leaning and tearing is not really towards the light but more towards the front of the tank. I'm thinking that the leather is simply growing too big for the rock it's on and its just becoming too top-heavy for the base to support it. I'm going to leave it alone and just keep an eye on it. Well that's an understatement I stare at my tank all the time! My dog hates it... ha.

Here's a pic from yesterday I took to show you .... the hole is on the back of the base of it, facing the back of the tank.

Re: Hole in leather?

You may be right - it's so big and heavy that it may be tearing off part of the base.

Re: Hole in leather?

Ok so now there is a new hole. The original hole is pretty much gone, and I have turned the leather over so it's not so top heavy. is the leather about to split? If so, will the "new" piece attach itself to the rock below?

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Hole in leather?

Hopefully my imagination is getting the best of me (once again), but I'm picturing the split happening, and then that piece of the leather whizzing around the tank in the current until I get home.... what can I do with it? Glue it?
