Will mushrooms sting or kill my green star polyp's

i have a small frilly mushroom glued to a rock that my green star polyps started to spread to. there almost touching.. i want the star polpys more then the mush... or will they just grow around it?

Good question. I wonder if this is what happend to my green star polyps. I didn't notice any mushrooms but I have a lot.

I've seen GSP's "persuade" a mushroom to detach and I've seen a hairy mushroom holds it's ground. So it's an IFFY

It could go either way. Myself, I'd rather have the shrooms than the GSP's. MUCH less invasive. GSP's are notorious for taking over rockwork.



That GSP-covered rock in the center started from 2 1"X1" frags...(yes, different species)

here's the same rock under actinics:



In the first pic, you'll notice GSP frags all over the sand bed...those are bits I pulled off the rockwork to TRY (in vain unfortunately) to stop the spread over the rocks.

to me thats awsome looking.. i have a ton of these frilly mushrooms.. so i think im gonna unglue it

my star polyps spread about 1 1/2 in in all directions in about 3 weeks to 4

The frilly shrooms seem to pack more punch in my tanks. Shrooms migrate, the GSP slowly spreads but stuff doesn't migrate near the frillies.
