Re: mushrooms scrunched

IMO, don't worry as long as your water parameters are within the acceptable limits and your lighting is adequate. They do this from time to time.

Honestly the longer you're IN this hobby the LESS you worry! Keep in mind that each and every coral has it's own "personality" if you will and they do "Pout" from time to time. One thing that's unique to my Red mushrooms is that when I see one "pouting" within a couple of weeks I see a NEW one near the base.... just the RED ones though

When in doubt... wait it out. This means take it slow and let the tank "develop" and don't rush it. Time is your friend

Re: mushrooms scrunched

Shoot Al, all my mushrooms do that.

Grinch,

I will usually see see one or two scrunched up doing self-propagation, but when they all do it at one time, it generally means something is going on with the Ph or the Ca/Kh is out of balance. Rapid changes to temp can also mark them curl up. As you observe your tanks inhabitants and get to know their body language, they will tell you what is going on with the water they are in.

If your parameters are in line and not experiencing any major temp swings they will come around. Shrooms are very hardy, not to worry!
