Is this sun coral?

I have been looking at pictures in the internet and what i bout at the LFS a week or so ago dosent really look like anyone elses sun coral. Can someone confirm what this species might be? Some pictures i have seen of Firecracker coral look more like mine.

ive been feeding it everyother day one block of frozen mysis shrimp mixed with some phyto pure over the course of 3 hours

I don't think phyto is to their liking. Save your money and stick to just the zooplankton.

thanks for the advice i was about to buy more phyto pure since mine was almost out. The other corals i have a re zoes, shrooms, xenia, porcilapora, this sun, and a torch i picked up today. Would you reccomend me buying more phytopure or is there another brand i should look at that all these guys would equally like?

Phytoplankton is more for filter feeding species like feather dusters, gorgonians, sea fans, clams etc. Most if not all of the corals you listed are zooplankton and/or photosynthetic feeders. You probably could do without the phyto all together.

Terry the two are indistinguishable without looking at the skeleton. Tubastrea is by far more common.

would a picture of mine fully closed help? and the size of my sunny is it worth 20 bucks? thats what i paid for it and the LFS has another one about the same size i might pick up
