sick coral

Hey guy's. I have a sick coral i think. i took some pics of it but cant figure out how to post them. please help me with that and this. The coral i think is type of leather and it has 3 large limbs with a bunch of fingure like protrusions. one of the large limps is limp and lying on the ground, and has some brown spots on the limb. The coral is new and i have only had it 3 days now. i bought it in chicago illinois and transferred it 4 hours to wisconsin. any idea on what this could be and if anybody could help me get some pics on this deal that would be sweet.

Re: sick coral

Well I should be able to help with the pic question. Basically there are three ways that I know of.
1 You can shrink your pic to < 50kb and attach it directly to the thread unde the manage attachments area of the go advanced screen. Usually to shrink it you will want to use the compress feature of a picture progream.
2. You can shrink the picture to < 200 kb and load it into your gallery here on RS by goint to the Photo Gallery option at the top of the screen. Once you load the picture into the gallery you can paste the IMG tag into your post and the pic will appear.
3. Load your pic to a pic hosting site such as Photobucket where they allow much larger files. Then again paste the IMG tag to the pic here in your post on RS.
Hope that helps with the one problem anyway.

Re: sick coral

yeah... post some pics so we can see...but if you have "some leather" they like to have kinda strong water flow so the wax is washed of.....and good light is a key.....hard to tell....now

Re: sick coral

i have not been able to get another picture yet, but there is three large branches and one of the branches is leaning really badly. what could be the cause to this?? im afraid the coral is going to die or lose that branch or something.

Re: sick coral

are the polyps out? Is the flesh still firm or is it mushy ? In order to help we really need to know what kind of leather it is

Re: sick coral

It is hard to say without a pic and without knowing what kind of coral but some corals (kenya tree is one) drop branches as a way of propogation. If it is limited to the one branch and is not spreading I wouldn't worry too much.

Re: sick coral

The coral today is doing much better and the polyps are out and whatnot. Maybe i was just worried lol. There are still some dark spots on it but I dont see any regression. I tried to get a pic up but i must be dumb or something because i cant get it to work lol. Ill keep ya posted and let you know when i get some pics up. I still dont know what type of leather it is, if it is even a leather. thanks all
