Try this link...

Piscine Energetics Inc - PE MYSIS - fresh water shrimp

and you can get it MANY places (including from Jack I believe) online.

Re: Frozen Food (Home made ... mostly)

When I get the Nori from the LFS it is dried like in the grocery. The stuff I get from the LFS holds together much better than the suff from the grocery. The tangs eat it so quickly that it is not a real problem but the stuff I am getting from the grocery will only stay on the clip for a couple of minutes where the stuff from the lfs holds together much longer.
Also on the PE mysis I am getting confused. My lfs convinced me to switch for the reasons Jack stated and to me it just looks a lot better as well. My husband hates it. He says it is too big for the smaller fish. Matt has advised me not to use the PE for the seahorses since it is fresh water but I believe the other is as well.
I am getting very mysis confused.

Re: Frozen Food (Home made ... mostly)

In Lebecca's feeding thread she says to avoid freshwater species and only use salt but I have never seen mysid for sale. It is always labeled Mysis on whichever brand I have bought. Is there a readily available mysid shrimp?

Re: Frozen Food (Home made ... mostly)

Hikari brand is mysid bahia, the saltwater shrimp.

Yes, fresh and saltwater fish/shrimp contain different fatty acids. SW fish have a difficult time breaking down the FW fatty acids. At least that is my understanding of it.

Re: Frozen Food (Home made ... mostly)

I've read that you should only use a "non-oily whitefish".

So, salmon and tuna are alright to use?

Re: Frozen Food (Home made ... mostly)

My fish didn't like the salmon. Not sure if it means anything or if it is just a preference thing. I know others that use salmon just fine.
